The Salem NH Farmers Market is set up to accommodate many forms of payment, including all federally subsidized income programs acceptable at farmers markets and special local/state/regional programs as available.
While most vendors accept debit and credit cards, stop at the Welcome Booth to purchase $5 tokens that are accepted like cash at each of our vendors’ booths.
Find Vouchers for Veterans at our farmers markets each week during the month of September, as well as the first Sunday of our indoor Winter Farmers Market, from November through April. (NOTE: April’s visit will be held on a different Sunday in observance of Easter.) During each program week, Veterans and active-duty personnel are invited to attend our market, or any one of the participating farmers markets, and receive $20 in vouchers for market purchases. As a thank you for your service, any veteran and active-duty military living in New Hampshire and Maine may pick up $20.00 in vouchers each time you attend one of the markets listed below. When at the market, go to the well-marked Vouchers for Veterans table, and with proof of service and residency, you will be given $20.00 in vouchers for market purchases.
Through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Salem NH Farmers Market strives to make local produce, dairy, meats, fish, honey, breads and other locally-produced foods available to our food insecure families. The goal of the program is to not only improve access to fresh foods and in turn improve an individual’s nutrition and health, but also to invigorate the local economy and New Hampshire’s agricultural community.
Salem NH Farmers Market is proud to match your SNAP benefits, up to $30. Our partnership with Granite State Market Match offers a match of your swipe for use on fresh produce.
